How do i get compensation for being injured on the job?

Hi back a few years ago i was working as a trail clear for bikers edge trail crew and i had a spontaneous numo thorax caused by the weeds we were trimming in the mountain trails, which stopped me from joining the airforce a few weeks after it happened, i sometimes have breathing problems now and the appropriate face protection was not provided by bikers edge, I had no other plans other than joining the airforce and ive gotten into some trouble being on my own and i am now going to be homeless if i dnt figure something out, is there any way to get compensation for this?
