Im so confused! any help please?

ok there was this guy i liked n he liked me but nothing could happen because he was going army.. well hes been gone about 2 months n i have barely spoken to him, which is fair enough. but when i have its almost like a competition between us as to whats changed lke how he works 24/7 etc. How do i move on? what can i do? do i stop communicating or would that be rude? im confused please help! :)
